Made for the front of the room
The text is huge so the back row can read it without squinting. The fullscreen button hides the browser chrome — useful if you are projecting onto a board or sharing your screen on a smartboard. The display turns red and pulses in the final 30 seconds, which is usually enough warning for students to wrap up.
For independent work, group rotations, and exit tickets
Common uses I have heard from teachers using this:
- Silent reading — 15 or 20 minutes
- Group rotations — 10 minutes per station, four stations
- Bell ringers — 5 minutes at the start of class
- Exit tickets — 5 minutes at the end
- Test conditions — 30 or 45 minutes, fullscreen, no notifications
